Hey guys, I apologize for not responding to anyone or posting anything in a while. I haven't had internet connection for the past month and a half, so it's been difficult keeping up-to-date on my blog. I finally got caught up with the 21st century and got internet at home! I kinda miss tranquil prehistoric days, but I think I could get used to this internet-at-home thing. I should be keeping my blog a bit more updated now... i hope.
Here are some images I did for the God of War show at Nucleus. It was a pretty crazy project, since I was in the middle of messy moving situation, I didn't get started on the images until a couple days before the due date---I didn't get to sleep much during the time. Have you ever worked 'til the weee hours of the morning, rather pleased with yourself on your progress, only to wake up discovering that someone had vandelized your beautiful artwork--- only to realize a moment later that you did it yourself while in a state of narcosis due to sleep deprivation? hehe, that happened--- should have just gone to sleep...
Not sure if you got to check out the show, but I heard it was rediculous! The line went down the street around the corner at some point. Wish I could have made it---I had a previous engagement in Japan--- definitely not compainin' though-- it was an amazing trip--- took lots of pics, ate a ton and a half of sushi and sashimi, had my first experience with sumo, and lost my wallet---pretty full experience:] I'll post some pics as soon as I organize them a bit.
These images were based after first and second Kings in the old testament. I hope to do a graphic novel on it at some point--some great characters and events to illustrate on that era. I thought the gallery show would be a perfect time to start getting my feet wet on the subject matter---not sure of style or anything yet. Hope you enjoy them!
You can check out some pics of the show on nucleus' blog at:

The first one resembles Jennifer Lopez for some reason. Very nice artwork.

Absolutely brilliant work all around. I'm surprised I haven't caught on to your name, and work before-but I am glad I did now.
And the description of working fast and hard without much sleep only to be sickened by your artwork in the morning (due date of course) rang much to true for me (and too many times)
cheers-

Awesome stuff Charlie! How you manage to pull it all together, detail, liveliness of strokes, color, and composition ...all in one go. Beautiful. What was your method for the ink wash portrait? It's got an interesting texture to it.
Post more man!

Thanks so much for the kind compliments, guys:] It's also an encouragement to hear that from guys that I have the highest artistic respects for.
DeMario: I'm working on a personal book right now, and hope to have it out by next year.(fingers crossed!)
The top two were started traditionally (marker, ink, acrylic) and finished in
Photoshop.
Anonymous: Sorry, can't show the Gatchaman stuff "publicly" yet--- I'll get linched at work;\

Hey Charlie,
Long, long, long time no see. I hope you remember hanging out with me in school. At any rate, I tried to track you down the short time I was living in California via email to a design school that listed you as an instructor but was unsuccessful. I found an address and a phone number for a Santa Monica address but thought that might be a bit stalkerish for me to try. I thought email would be a more appropriate communication for the first time in 14 years. It looks like you managed just fine. And go figure, you're a successful artist. I thought ping pong for sure. Hope your family is doing well. Still in NA? What's Janice up to? I'd love to catch up sometime if you're up to it. My email is jackiechrisjones99@mac.com. Look foward to hearing from you.
Chris
PS: You still owe me a Wolverine.
